I'M LOST... CAN YOU HELP ME FIND MY WAY...

Today I woke up and said to myself, "I am going to blog for all those out there with the same questions, concerns, etc. about being 40 and above."  My mom always says "embrace your 40s", well frankly, being 40 today is different than 25 years ago, when my mom was my age.  Don't get me wrong, being 43, and still being healthy and in good shape is all well, but there are so many more pressures today than yesteryears.  As they say, today's 40's are the new 30s, and with that comes pressure.  Pressure, to look thin, to look young, to try to be the girl you use to be (not dress out of your age group) but the physical aspects.  I look in the mirror and ask where did my 30s go?  I don't even remember them, and as for 40s, I feel as women, we are a lost group.  I feel like I am considered not young enough for one thing but too old for another.  I went into my 40s thinking  it is a number, but I find people (esp. women) throw it in your face a lot... like it is the witching age... oh no... you are 40!  There definetly is a double standard for women vs. men at 40.  That is why I am reaching out to see if others feel this and have a place to discuss your feelings or how to deal with life changes that are thrown at you.  Because, just like a teenage girl going through puberty, turning 40s (is kind of like that), it throws you new curve balls that you need to be ready to hit!
